Go Baby Go!

at Chatham University

Each year, Chatham  physical therapy and occupational therapy students help children with mobility impairments become more mobile by modifying drivable toy cars at no charge to the families.

About Go Baby Go!

Originating from the University of Delaware, Go Baby Go! is an international program that provides adapted ride-on cars to young children with disabilities.

The adapted ride-on cars allow for children with mobility limitations to play and socialize with other children, helping to increase cognitive, motor, and social skills.

All cars are modified by students in Chatham University's Doctor of Physical and Occupational Therapy programs and are provided to families free of charge.

At Chatham University, we host an event each year where children and families come to Pittsburgh, PA to be fitted for their cars. Children have the opportunity to drive their cars and families are trained on how to use and care for the car.

2024 Event
We will be having our car reveal event on May 5th, 2024!

Events

Go Baby Go! at Chatham University welcomes all donations. Our events are only made possible by compassionate community members who are willing to donate to this meaningful cause as our organization is entirely student-run. Without your financial support, we are not able to purchase cars and tools for modification. By making a donation towards the purchase of a toy car you are affording us the ability to help improve the lives of children in need.

Many families’ lives have been catastrophically affected by unfortunate medical situations. We understand how we can help make the child’s world a little brighter with the support of our community. Thank you for thinking of the children and Go Baby Go!

“Being able to move independently in a play situation does so much for kids’ social skills, and that’s really the whole idea. Mobility matters for children of all ages, and that’s why we’re doing what we’re doing.”

— Erin Gaffney, DPT ’17
